Renowned Animal Hospital Has Eye On The Future With New Appointments
A leading animal eye hospital in Cheshire is looking to the future with the appointment of two ophthalmologists.
Laurence Occelli and Kati March have joined Linnaeus-owned Eye Vet in Runcorn, one of the most respected veterinary eye clinics in the UK.
Laurence, an internationally renowned ophthalmology specialist, is an American Board Diplomate in Veterinary Ophthalmology and has authored numerous articles.
She also has extensive experience working within universities and private practices in Europe, Canada and the United States.
Laurence said: “I’m delighted to join Eye Vet which is a leading, dedicated ophthalmology referral hospital in the UK.”
Among Laurence’s qualifications are a Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia, a Certifcat d’Etudes Supérieures d’Ophtalmologie Vétérinaire, a Diplôme Universitaire de Microchirurgie Ophtalmologique and a PhD with Pr. Simon Petersen-Jones at Michigan State University.
Inherited retinal degeneration, gene therapy, retinal imaging and retinal surgery are among Laurence’s clinical and research interest.
Ophthalmology vet Kati, who graduated from the University of Nottingham, has previously worked in a general practice in Bolton before gaining her ophthalmology certificate. She has a particular clinical interest in eyelid surgery and dry eye.
Kati said: “Eye Vet enjoys an enviable reputation and I’m very excited to be joining and working alongside many esteemed colleagues."
Outside of work, Kati enjoys traveling, hiking and fitness, as well as spending time with her two Maine Coon cats.
