Soft Tissue Specialist Joins Top Team At Eastcott
A state-of-the-art animal hospital in Wiltshire has recruited a highly qualified and experienced specialist to join its expert team.
Soft tissue surgeon Faye Swinbourne has joined the Linnaeus-owned Eastcott Veterinary Referrals, in Swindon, which has just completed a major £3 million expansion and refurbishment.
Faye is an ECVS specialist in small animal surgery, RCVS specialist in small animal surgery (Soft Tissue) and EBVS European specialist in small animal surgery.
She will team up with fellow specialists Tim Charlesworth and Andrew Phillips, who make up the soft tissue surgery team at Eastcott, further boosting the multi-disciplinary expertise the hospital provides.
Eastcott Veterinary Referrals clinical director Duncan Barnes said: “Faye is a fabulous addition to the team and will further enhance our ability to deliver the best possible care to our patients.
“It’s a very exciting time at Eastcott as we have invested heavily in our facilities, equipment and staff to ensure we deliver a top-quality, comprehensive service with a real strength in depth across the entire team.
“Our extension and refurbishment programme, along with the recruitment of highly-qualified clinicians means we can continue to deliver first class specialist veterinary healthcare.”
Faye, who has a particular interest in thoracic and abdominal emergency surgery, said: “I’m delighted to have joined the team and feel passionate about delivering a high standard of care to patients and clients.”
Faye graduated from Edinburgh University in 2004. After working in a mixed veterinary practice for several years she opted to pursue specialist surgical training.
She completed a small animal rotating internship at a private referral practice and then successfully undertook a three-year residency training programme in small animal surgery and a clinical master’s degree (MVetMed) at the Royal Veterinary College.
She became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) in 2014.
Alongside clinical work, Faye actively contributes to veterinary research, sits on the committee for a number of professional organisations and delivers regular training in soft tissue surgery to vets working in general practice.
Eastcott’s soft tissue surgery department offers a comprehensive service and are always happy to discuss cases, provide advice and accept referrals of all kinds.
The Swindon referral centre offers expert care in cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oncology orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, diagnostic imaging and CT, anaesthesia and analgesia and has its own emergency care centre.
