This April 2016, compulsory microchipping is being introduced for all dogs across the UK.  To help practices to engage with this initiative, Virbac has created a Compulsory Microchipping Support Pack.  The pack has been put together to help practices raise awareness of the importance of microchipping and the new legislation coming to England, Scotland and Wales.  The pack contains a range of promotional and educational items including:

The introduction of the Compulsory Microchipping Support Pack follows the success of the BackHome® Mini Chip.  At just 8 mm long and featuring an anti-migration coating, the Mini Chips can be implanted with a needle a third smaller than the standard ones, making them suitable for almost any species.

Sarah Walker MRCVS, BackHome Product Manager, explained:  "Compulsory microchipping comes in this April and awareness needs to be raised among the general public – numerous reports in the media still show a significant proportion of dogs are not yet microchipped.  The new BackHome Mini Chip has a 34% smaller needle than our standard needles and is ‘one size fits all animals’, making it easier than stocking different chips for different size pets.

"The resources in our Compulsory Microchipping Support Pack are great for practices to use.  We want to help practices and the teams working within them to engage with the public in their vicinity and help to drive practice footfall."
